This is Not a Mandate

Donald Trump and the Republican Party had a good election in 2024. They won the Presidency, the House and the Senate. But let’s be clear. They do not have the Mandate of the People that they claim.

By the numbers, about four out of every ten registered voters stayed home. More voters did not vote for President than voted for either candidate, and more than seven in ten eligible Americans did not vote for Donald Trump.

Politics has become disconnected from reality based on Social Media and algorithms and where we get our information. But facts remain facts and we must continue to rely on facts to help us shape our politics and our policy.
