For the EMEA region, we hosted the Connect event at the Brewery Blocks in London. This venue dates back to the 1600’s when it was a running brewery. The place is super-haunted, but that gives it its character.
The highlight of this conference was a nice big wide LED wall behind the main stage. We had the client’s creative team build some backgrounds to fit the pixel dimensions, and the PIPed in the main slide and video content. To make an impact during walk-in and walk-out times, I took the client’s testimonial slides and converted them into the pixel dimensions of the screen, loaded them into FCPX and created a video loop encompassing the whole screen.
This allowed the switcher op to go from full-screen video to static background with slides in one push and made for a nice and foolproof effect.
