Citi Field. New York City. I was brought into a project by a fantastic group of people to help bring a gorgeous and innovative B2C experience to music festivals around North America. The first venue was the parking lot at Citi Field (home of the Mets!) where there was a short set/strike window due to the MLB schedule.
I have to take my hat off to the folks who run music festivals like this one. It’s one thing to take over a Convention Center, but this stuff is an entirely different animal. No perimeter. Uneven ground surface. Obstacles like light posts and curbs. No infrastructure. The level of organization and the amount of heavy equipment and logistics is astounding.
For our part, we set up a very complicated custom-built booth and then maintained it for three days of sun and rain with thousands of people climbing all over it and taking free samples from us (which we had to chill and ice throughout).
